How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. Drag your PDF into the box above, or click to browse.
  2. Type the pages you want gone — single pages (4), ranges (9-12), or a mix (1, 4, 9-12).
  3. Check the line underneath: it tells you how many pages you will be left with before anything happens.
  4. Click Delete pages & download. You get a new PDF; the original on your device is untouched.

Delete pages, or split the file?

Both tools end up rearranging the same document, and which one you want comes down to which list is shorter to type. If a 40-page report has three blank scans in it, delete those three. If you only need pages 12-15 out of that same report, splitting is far less typing — and it leaves the original whole.

The other difference is what you end up with. Deleting gives you one file, minus the pages you named. Splitting gives you a new file containing only the pages you named. Neither one ever modifies the PDF sitting on your disk.

What this is actually useful for

The everyday cases are dull and constant: a scanner that inserts a blank sheet between every double-sided page, a bank statement where you only want to send the transactions and not the four pages of terms and conditions, a downloaded form with instruction pages you do not need to print, a contract where an annex belongs to someone else's copy.

That last category is the reason this runs in your browser. Payslips, medical letters, IDs and contracts are exactly the documents you should not be uploading to an unknown server just to knock two pages off the end. Here the file is opened, rewritten and saved on your own machine — nothing is transmitted, so there is nothing to leak, log or retain. Once you are done, the merge tool can staple the trimmed file to something else, and rotate PDF fixes any pages that came out sideways.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete a page from a PDF?

Drop the PDF in, type the page numbers you want gone — for example 1, 4, 9-12 — and the tool shows how many pages you will be left with before you commit. Then click Delete pages and download the result.

What is the difference between this and splitting a PDF?

Here you name the pages you want to get rid of, and keep everything else in one file. Splitting is the opposite: you name the pages you want to pull out, and they become a separate document. Use whichever list is shorter to type.

Does the original file get changed?

Never. You download a new PDF and the file on your device is left exactly as it was, so there is nothing to undo if you delete the wrong page.

Is my document private?

Completely. The PDF engine runs inside your browser, so the document is opened and rewritten on your own device and never sent anywhere — which matters for bank statements, contracts and anything with personal details on it.
